Wondering why the pages of my website are taking so long to load?

My website is very simple, should load quickly!

Please advise - I'm asking customers to choose me to do their websites and a slow loading site is not going to get me business!!!

Thank you :)

Hello,

We assure you that the Canvas Template is not the cause of your website loading slow as this depends on the Content of your Website and certain Server Optimization Factors or even the Hosting Servers. According to the report on Pingdom: https://tools.pingdom.com/#5c4124b7d0000000 , the Content of your Website is not too much but still it takes around 16 seconds to load. To improve this, firstly, we would recommend you to follow the suggestions provided in the Documentation > Start > Optimization Tips Section and see if this improves the speed. If this still does not improve the speed, please get back in touch with us and we will definitely check further. Thanks for your Patience.

Meanwhile, do let us know if we can help you with anything else or if you find any further issues with Canvas.

Thank you for your response.

The thing is, I could have gotten to that document and that advise without paying for the additional support.

I was hoping, as you are extremely familiar with the template, that you could offer some more educated advise.
Perhaps you can direct me to do one of the tasks, as it looks like, from your experienced point of view, that a particular task needs to be done to reduce the loading time?

That would really help and is what I was understood paid Support to be all about.

Let me know. Thank you. Stay well.

Hello,

Thanks for your Patience!

While we are committed to provide you with Quality Support, we unfortunately, cannot control your Hosting Environment or Server Configurations. When we received your Support Query, these are the Steps we followed:

  1. Checked your Website on Pingdom Tools to analyze your Website's Speed.

  2. Checked your Website on Google Page Speed to check the Optimization Suggestions.

  3. Checked your Website on W3C Validator for HTML Validation errors.

  4. Checked the Codes on Developer Console for Possible Errors.

And after that we came to the conclusion that it was your Hosting Servers and Configurations that are causing these issues as it did not appear optimized which is why we had provided you with the suggestion to go through the Optimization Tips provided as they would help you load your website faster. Now, Canvas is a Static Template and nothing is dynamic, so there is no reason for the Websites running on Canvas codes to be slow except for the fact that the File Sizes are larger than expected which can be Images or Videos or the CSS/JS Files. For the Images and Videos, it is your responsibility to optimize them and use optimally sized assets. For the included CSS/JS Files, since Canvas is a Multi-Purpose Template, everything is included by default and it is the user's responsibility to include/exclude the codes according to what is required for their website. We provide tools like Custom JS Package Generator: http://support.semicolonweb.com/js-package-generator/ and for CSS, you can consider using the css/imports Folder and the style-import.css File to include/exclude the CSS according to your usage requirements. The CSS Files in css/imports Folder are the mirror copies of the style.css but broken into parts so that you can simply use the CSS Styles you actually need for your Website. Start with the style-import.css File and remove the @import references for the Elements Styles you do not need for your Website.

Support is provided only for the issues or bugs arising from the Design and Functionality Features already included with Canvas and not for User Customizations as this could be limitless. Speed Optimizations are based on User's Content, Hosting Environment, Server Configurations or CDN Usage and falls under Customization. And unfortunately we currently do not provide Customization related Support according to the Item Support Policy: https://themeforest.net/page/item_support_policy . You will need to optimize your Website manually. For any other issues covered within the Support Policy, we are always here to help you.

Hope this Helps!
