I am currently working on this and would like the video in the slider to be pulled in from a vimeo source rather than embedded in my site (if that is the correct terminology) Is this possible? Please help.

Please consider using this PLugin: http://johndyer.name/html5-video-wrapper-for-youtube-and-vimeo-api-mediaelement-js/ for embedding the Vimeo Videos inside a HTML5 Video container.
