Hi There,

After adding the suggested changes (adding no-placeholder and playsinline) in the forum, we still don't see the video on mobile devices (IOS 10 and greater). Please advise us on what other changes we need to make this work.

Thank you in advance.

Hello,

This functionality will not work if your iOS Device is on Low Power Mode. This is disabled directly in the Safari Browser when the prefers-reduced-motion comes into effect. Simply disable Low Power Mode on your iOS Device and the Videos will work fine.

Hope this Helps!

Hi there,

We tested it on a number of iPhones (8, X, 12) and they all have the low power mode turned off. We are still not able to see the video on them, only the picture. Were you able to see the video?

Thank you,

Mille

Hi there,

Yes, the link you sent me works perfectly on all our phones. but this link (the one we used to build our site) is still is not working http://themes.semicolonweb.com/html/canvas/op-html5-video-light.html.

Are we missing something? Where is the class "no-placeholder" being called from?

Thank you in advance.

Regards,

Mille

Hello,

We have updated the Codes on this Page: http://themes.semicolonweb.com/html/canvas/op-html5-video-light.html and this one also works perfectly fine for us. Please check.

We are not adding any Extra Codes, just simply adding the playsinline Attribute and .no-placeholder Class. You can check using the View Source on your Browser.

In your version of Canvas, .no-placeholder Class is implemented in the js/functions.js File, but the issue is related to something else in your Custom Codes.

Hope this Helps!

Hello,

I am sorry but I don't have any custom codes. It's been over a year since this website was created. I replaced the functions.js with the latest version and nothing happened. Do you have any suggestions on which files to update with the latest version?

Thank you so much in advance.

Regards,

Mille

Hello,

You will need to manually Upgrade the Files according to the File/Code Changes mentioned in the Changelog: http://docs.semicolonweb.com/docs/changelog/ . If you are upgrading from Canvas v5.x, please check the migration guide: http://docs.semicolonweb.com/docs/upgrading-v5-to-v6/migration/ . Since Canvas 6 is a Major Update, there are many Breaking Changes. If you are not ready to update to the Latest Version, consider updating the Youtube BG Player Plugin to the Latest Version in the js/plugins.js File.

Hope this Helps!

Hi there,

Updated the plugins.js file, but the video did not work on mobile devices.

Thank you for trying to help.

Hello,

We have checked out your Website and we have noticed that the style.css is still from the Old Versions, while js/plugins.js and js/functions.js Files are from the Latest Versions. This will cause many issues. You can now see some errors in your Browser's Developer Console.

If you want to Upgrade, you will need to Upgrade everything together, including HTML/CSS/JS and PHP Files, not partially. And as we mentioned if you don't want to or can't update all the Files, simply update just the Youtube BG Plugin (just this Plugin) to the Latest Version in the Old js/plugins.js File. That's it!

This should definitely work fine. Hope this Helps!

Hello,

I uploaded the file as per your instruction and it still did not work. I have gone back to the old Functions.js to avoid issues.

Thank you for trying to help, I appreciate it.

Mille

Hello,

Every file needs to be the same version as in your style.css File. So if you will need to revert to the Older Versions of Canvas:

  • Old js/jquery.js

  • Updated js/plugins.js File we have provided in the previous replies

  • Old js/functions.js

Hope this Helps! Also, update the Live URLs so that we can check the issues.

Additionally, we have found some HTML Validations errors on your Page: https://validator.w3.org/nu/?doc=http%3A%2F%2Fdirbyaber.com%2F . Consider fixing them to avoid any unexpected issues.

Hello,

Upon running more tests, we have noticed that this File does not exist: http://dirbyaber.com/images/videos/Dirbyaber.mp4 .

Make sure that you are properly checking all the resources added in the Codes. This will help in resolving the issues more quickly.
