Using 'Cafe' demo, can't eliminate the pop-up suscribe box

Question

Hi,
I love Canvas by the way. One problem I am having with the 'Cafe' demo. I have eliminated the pop-up box, but the screen is still dark and the spinner working until I click anywhere, at which point it is clear and the spinner stops. How can I eliminate the need to click?
