Many times when developers upgrade they are not only add more features they are fixing CSS, JS, google fonts etc. Are their any written guidelines on how to upgrade canvas for a site that has already been modified using an older canvas version?

We include the List of all the Updated Files along with the Code Changes in the Documentation > Changelog Section with every update. So you just have to change only edit those files with the Codes Updates that have been changed & nothing else. Thats all!
