I have noticed at first glance the template uses divs for things like headers, asides etc. Will modifying divs to semantic HTML break any of the scripting? Thanks.

Hello,

Absolutely not. You can use the <header> and <aside> as you please. If there are any issues, we will fix them for you (while there shouldn't be any).
