Is it possible to have an updated version of Revolution Slider? The version that is included for download right now is 5.4.8.1 from 19 July 2018. Is there a newer download for the slider?

The Version of Revolution Slider included with Canvas is the Latest Version available as of now: https://codecanyon.net/item/slider-revolution-responsive-jquery-plugin/2580848 . As soon as the Plugin Authors release an Update, we will update our package with the latest version of the Plugin.
