Parallax image not centering

Hi,

I am really continuing a previous thread where I did not open a new topic (it's the end of a but now with correct name -- still getting use to the idea of a support forum). I have learned my lesson, I promise!

In my site http://ser2019.serendipitycostarica.com/. TWO PROBLEMS:
1.) CHROME and FIREFOX render image location differently. You can see the difference in both screenshots attached. I have no access to a safari browser to see how it renders there.

PROBLEM 2: CHROME never centers the image. See ChromeAbove-FirefoxBelow-Screen1185.jpg.

PROBLEM 3: Referring to ChromeAbove-FirefoxBelow-Screen1185.jpg., the lower (FIREFOX) image is centered. It is centered from 1900 down to about 1180. Below about 1180 px media width the parallax image is increasingly changing position of image to the right. This is very obvious in attached ChromeAbove-FirefoxBelow-Screen860.jpg. You can see the volcano cloud has moved to the right in FIREFOX, and completely off the screen in CHROME.

Any ideas how to fix this? I looked at the developer tool and see a major jump in BACKGROUND-POSITION for the ELEMENT with only a few pixels different in width. I assume the ELEMENT width is determioned in a javascript function.

Thanks!
