Need help with section HTML

Hello,

I am creating a homepage based off of demo-app-landing.html - I am having trouble with the HTML for the top full screen section. Essentially what I want is to have the images of the character on the left and the logo and sales points on the right half of the section. The problem I'm having is when I try to position the image of the character by adding padding to the top/bottom the image resizes in weird ways.

Is there an optimal way to set this up?
