Mobile Site Nav: Moving Between Sub-Menus Directs to Pages Instead of Menu Items

Hello,

There is a bug with the mobile version of the site navigation menu involving sub-menus. When having a top level menu expanded, scrolling down to another top level menu item, and then opening the second top level menu the second top level menu will instantly open, the first top level menu will collapse, and the visitor will be taken to whatever second top level sub-menu item appears where the user clicked/touched. The visitor should not be sent off to a page, visitors should remain within the menu.

For example on http://themes.semicolonweb.com/html/canvas/index.html with the mobile layout:

  • Open the Home sub-menu

  • Scroll down to Features and select

  • In an instant the Home menu will collapse, the Features sub-menu opens, and the visitor is directed to User Profile

Attached is a video and still images.

Thanks for your assistance.

Hello,

When a primary menu sub-menu is controlled by a <div> instead of an , such as the Features menu option at http://themes.semicolonweb.com/html/canvas/ is, the sub-menu will open on selection (click or tap) but does not close on a subsequent selection. Site visitors expect to click/tap to open and then click/tap to close, especially on mobile devices.

A screen recording is attached.

Thanks.

Will the update be one to Canvas available on the Envato Market or will you be able to provide me with a patch to the code to correct these issues? I would prefer simple changes to the code instead of having to update all of the Canvas files.

Your assistance is appreciated. Thanks!

Hello,

Thanks for your Patience!

An Update was released recently to introduce this Feature. Simply update the superfish: function() and menufunctions: function() Function Block in the js/functions.js File to the Latest Version and this functionality will be automatically applied on the Mobile Devices.

Hope this Helps!
