Location / Place Search, Search and landing Page (feature request)

Hello,

I would love to see a good design for a location search page with filter form, a list and an interactive map. I don't see anything like this on any page.

Also, a landing page for a location (like a motel) would be great. The landing page should include a map, photos, contact information, and a description. I kinda see parts of this in the real estate demo, but there is no search result page. And the property page (demo-real-estate-single-property.html) does not make contact details front and center.

I know you do not do custom design work, I just hope you would consider this in the future. Especially the search results page (form/list/map).

Love your theme. Keep up the great work!

Hello,

Thank You so much for the suggestions! This would be a very good addition and we will definitely try implementing this in a Niche Demo very soon. We will start working on this within the next 2 weeks and will release an Update including this Suggestion within September.

Meanwhile, do let us know if we can help you with anything else or if you find any further issues with Canvas.

Hello,

I have not been following your updates for a bit but am still curious about a design like this. Specifically:

I really need a single property page that shows contact/address info, along with photos and potentially a map.

I have tried to make this on my own and... well it is ugly.

Do you have a demo/design for something like this?

Also, in your last reply, it might be in its own theme. But it is almost just extending the Event themes a little more. Specifically:

Landing Page:

You do have this page for events but (IMHO) it kinda just looks plain compared to other pages you have. Just too bootstrappy.

As for the search, it just seems like such a good addition. But I also understand many may not be able to make their own back-end for a search of something so this may just confuse many.

Again, not looking for custom work, just wondering if I missed something since the orig post in 2020.

Thanks again for making this such a great product!

Hello,

Thanks so much for the Kind Words! :)

We have checked your design requirements and it appears to be possible with the current set of templates included with Canvas. Allow us 2-3 Days to get back to you on this while we can assemble a layout for you. Thanks for your Patience.

Meanwhile, do let us know if we can help you with anything else or if you find any further issues with Canvas.

Hello,

ANy updates on this? I have been following your change log updates but have not found specific about a location page/content update.

Hello,

We Really Apologize for the delays in replying to your query and delays in proving you with this Template. Allow us 24 hours as we will definitely spin a Basic Layout for you today and send you a copy.

Also, we have been working on a lot of things quietly. Canvas 7 will be released soon with a lot of new features and it comes with some Breaking Changes but it will be worth it. We are working on converting functions.js and Core JS Functionality to Vanilla Javascript (exception being 3rd Party Plugins and you can easily choose to omit them). Also, we are reworking SCSS and making it smaller and introducing Gulp workflow.

Would you be kind enough to test Canvas 7? We can send you a copy by next week.

Thanks for your Patience.

Meanwhile, do let us know if we can help you with anything else or if you find any further issues with Canvas.

Hello,

Apologies for the continued delays!

Consider checking the Template we have attached. Does this work and would you like something like this?

Meanwhile, we are preparing the Single Real Estate Listing Template with more details as you have suggested above.

Thanks for your Patience.

Meanwhile, do let us know if we can help you with anything else or if you find any further issues with Canvas.

Thank you for this response. And sorry for such a long delay. Personal issues kept me from much web development later last year and I had not been able to review it. I will review this once I am fully on the V7 version. I am very excited for that upgrade and to review your solution here.

Thank you again.

Hello,

We have been wondering, it has been a while since we last heard from you. It's really nice to hear from you again, and we hope that everything is going well for you.

Yes, would be great if you could give us some insights on v7. Really look forward to your suggestions.

Have a Wonderful Day.

Looking forward to hearing from your soon.

Thank you for making this; it is a good start. Also, I am unsure if it was just the old Canvas 6, but some things do not look good. Also, I do need filtering very badly.

I have started to work on a solution for something like:
https://www.apartments.com/sussex-nj/

Specifically, 3 rows:

  • Row/Div 1 - Nav Row
  • Row/Div 2 - Custom dive with whatever inside
  • Row/Div 3 - The remaining space would be for a map/list/whatever
** Note: the viewport should not be larger than the viewport

I am sure I can get this to work using Bootstrap classes; I was wondering if you already had something like this.

I have made significant progress using your previous demo (specifically the .listings-area class) to create the attached layout.

I have used the following within my 3 row setup:

A: The main header nav
B: The top-bar id wrapper
C: The listings-area on all the elements

This has been good so far.

Next time I have time to work on this, I want to switch out the top-bar id wrapper row. And instead of form fields, I will use many nav list items and drop menus to ensure the "fields" collapse properly on small screens.

I found this example that might work...
https://themes.semicolonweb.com/html/canvas/block-navigation-header-5.html

But when I tried to quickly add it to my local demo, both navbars just lay on each other. So I will need to play with this a bit more.

If you have any other examples of a page with two rows/two navbars in the header, I would appreciate it.

I will keep you updated on my progress and will happily share my results as I find success.

Hello,

Thanks for your Patience and reporting your progress! :)

We are working on a Layout similar to this and we recommend using Page-Menu: https://canvastemplate.com/page-submenu.html instead for more consistency instead of the Top Bar. We will upload a Sample File related to this in a while. Thanks for your Patience.

Meanwhile, do let us know if we can help you with anything else or if you find any further issues with Canvas.
