JavaScript issues on Chrome after Big Sur Update

Hi,

I'm not certain if it's the Big Sur update, but my colleague is no longer able to view images on our site requiring JS after she updated to Big Sur. I'm going to update to Big Sur right now to see if I experience the same issue.

I can see a thread in support with the same concern, but I don't have permission to view the response.

Thanks.

Hello,

Apologies for the inconvenience caused!

We have checked out your Website and you are using an Old Version of Canvas which has Old 3rd Party Plugin Codes that could cause conflicts with New OS Updates. Make sure that you are using the Latest Version of Canvas with the Updated Codes to ensure maximum compatibility. This is why we always keep Canvas updated with the Latest Plugins and Codes. So simply update to the Latest Version and this will definitely fix your issue.

If you are not ready to update to the Latest Version, consider updating the Youtube BG Player Plugin to the Latest Version in the js/plugins.js File.

Hope this Helps!

Just to confirm. I will need to start from scratch to update this? I saw this in the documentation...

"Canvas v6 is a major rewrite and almost 70-80% of the codes have been modified or rewritten for Best Practices and Greater Flexibility. So it is Highly Recommended to Start your Project from Scratch as a Detailed Changelog will not be helpful due to the amount of Changes."

Would this be necessary if I had created this in WordPress?

Hello,

  1. Since Canvas 6 is a Major release, there are many breaking changes.

  2. This depends on the way you are using the content on WordPress. The HTML Codes used in WordPress still needs to be updated to the Latest Codes so that everything works correctly.

Hope this Helps!
