iphone videos!!

Hi,

I have a self hosted video which works fine on desktop but on iphone doesn't even show up? Is there a work-ariund for this?
Also, if I use a vimeo hosted video is there a way to hide the file number and user name on it?

Hello,

  1. Apple and Android do not allow autoplay for HTML5 Videos/Audio to prevent unsolicited usage of Bandwidth (which can be Cellular) on the User’s Mobile Device. They can only be played on their native Video Player.

We are definitely keeping an eye on the Latest Updates by Apple and Android to allow the auto-playing of HTML5 Videos on their respective phones and as soon as they release an Update we will surely make this available. The HTML5 Video on Mobile Devices do not work on any Website.

Make sure that you using a placeholder image for your Self-Hosted Video, so that a Background Image is shown on Mobile Devices in place of the Video.

  1. You can simply append ?title=0&byline=0 to the Vimeo Video URL and it will disable the Title and the Username.

Thank you for the tip for Vimeo!

I have added in this code for the videos and it seems to work well except that in ipads/iphones, only the 'play' button is visible ie not the first frame.
Is there a way of combining "video-poster" with this?

Hello,

Unfortunately, Video Posters cannot be combined with Vimeo Videos because of the Embed Nature of the Videos. Additionally, we could not find the Vimeo Video on the Page, so it would be great if you can point us to the Video. Thanks for your Patience.
