Intermittent Page Loading

I am experiencing intermittent page loading in terms of speed and whether the page loads at all.

Symptoms are:

  1. Page loads OK (rarely)
  2. Page loads after about 15 seconds (sometimes)
  3. Page doesn’t load at all, just keeps trying
  4. When this happens, which is most often, a refresh of the page even though it hasn’t loaded seems to make it load. This happens regularly.

This applies to the index page at

www.collectiveclarity.net/index.html

All other pages have the same problem intermittently.

Could you take a look?

I have tried to ‘clear’ this blockage with no result.

I have tried the latest template version but it will require the whole site to be done again. From what I could see there wasn’t any improvement.

You have unclosed div tags somewhere...go slowly through your code and check all the divs

and another thing try adding this to your body tag:

<body class="no-transition no-smooth-scroll">

your website will be much faster and more responsive!

Many thanks for your help here, very useful. I have manually checked the index page and there aren’t any open tags and I also tried some automatic checkers that said the same. I also tried this one:

This pointed to an open tag but there really isn’t one!

This also pointed to a problem with the character | in this:

http://fonts.googleapis.com/css?family=Lato:300,400,400italic,600,700|Raleway:300,400,500,600,700|Crete+Round

They say - the pipe character (|) must be encoded as %7C.

It didn’t make any difference.

Just to reiterate, this isn’t a speed ‘thing’, it’s a ‘does the page load or not’ thing.

Sometimes I get a continuous loading process that never ends.

Yes I get what you are saying.

As above, speed isn’t the issue; it’s the intermittent loading problem.

An example: right now I have reloaded the page 11 times without a problem. Then on the 12th, I get no response and a continuous load. Very odd and extremely frustrating. This applies to any page not just the index page.

I originally thought this would be scripts running. In the Google analysis, we see 10-20% savings through mini files. Not so sure this solves my issue.

Here’s another thing:

On the 12th attempt – nothing happened for 10 minutes.

Then I switched content delivery from my ISP to SafeWeb.

Hey presto the page loaded immediately.

This all points to poor web hosting unless you have other ideas?

If this is the case, what do you recommend I ask/tell them?

Hello,

We have tried running Full Tests on your Website to check the issues related to your Website's Speed: https://tools.pingdom.com/#!/dxBOmU/http://www.collectiveclarity.net/index.html and we found out that the exact issue lies with the Speed with your Hosting as you yourself suggested. We checked out that all the Content on your Website from other URLs loads significantly faster than the Content on your Own Website suggesting that it is the Hosting that is affecting the Speed of your Website including the Loading.

Moreover, we have also noticed that the #header and #footer Containers are outside the #wrapper Container which again is causes an issue. Please add them inside the #wrapper Container to avoid further issues. Please follow the HTML Structure as mentioned in the Documentation > Start > HTML Structure Section.

Additionally, you can also Time Out the Page Loading Transition prematurely by simply adding the data-loader-timeout="4000" Attribute to the <body> Tag.
