Icons don't work when served from a different server

I'm experimenting with hosting the static files on a remote server to improve page load times.

I've successfully moved all the css, javascript and image files, however if I move the font-icons.css file and fonts/ folder, my fonts stop working. I've tested this and fonts do not work on Chrome (OSX and Win10), Firefox (Win10), and Microsoft Edge. Strangely, the fonts continue to work on Safari (OSX and iOS).

Any ideas?

Thanks,

Sorry, I meant to say:
