Hi, I'm learning web dev and I bought your product to sort of study in a way, but I really am clueless as to how I can even open the files! I have Visual Studio and what I'd like to do is copy and paste the HTML in there to see what's going on but I don't know where to start! How can i find the html? Thanks

Hello,

We are more than Happy to Help! :)

Consider generating a Custom Package here: http://docs.semicolonweb.com/docs/getting-started/installation/ according to the HTML Files you need for your website and our Package Generator will sort the Files for you to download. Suppose, you need the demo-seo.html Template, simply choose this File in the Package Generator and then press the Generate button. A Custom Package will be generated for you only based on your selected file. You can also find all the HTML Templates inside the Package/HTML Folder.

And then you can simply edit those HTML Files manually with some knowledge of HTML/CSS according to your needs in a Text Editor like Sublime Text/VS Code and upload it to your Servers using FTP. We recommend starting with a Localhost Setup on your personal PC/Macbook before you deploy using FTP (in the public_html (Apache) or /var/www/html/ (Nginx) Folder). After you finish editing, you can simply rename the demo-seo.html Template to index.html on your Servers.

Hope this Helps!

Hello,

I really appreciate the timely response but I'm afraid you may overestimate my knowledge of this! I don't know what a local host is in all honesty. I also don't know what FTP is as well. I'm literally a brand new beginner in all of this! I followed your steps before however and when I opened my package, there wasn't any html in there. There was a google chrome icon but when I opened it, it looked really bad! I'll try to link a screenshot to show you.

Kind regards,
Mike

Hello,

Thanks for your Patience and Apologies for the Delays in replying!

The Google Chrome icons are the HTML Files which you can open in VS Code. Additionally, make sure that your Browser is not locking the CSS/JS Files so that the CSS Styles and JS Functionalities work correctly.

Localhost is not a necessity and you can open/edit the Files directly. But later on when you are ready with your Website, you will need FTP or your Hosting's Control Panel to upload the Files.

Additionally, since this is an HTML5/CSS3 Template, basic knowledge of HTML/CSS is required. Since, currently Customization related Support is not included with the License according to the Item Support Policy: https://themeforest.net/page/item_support_policy . You will need to manually code this or Hire Us to help you out with Customizations.

Hope this Helps!

Hello

Thank you very much for your response, I very much appreciate it. I am learning HTML but I'm still very much a beginner! It's pretty complex haha How do you make sure the browser isn't locking the CSS/JS files?

Thank you in advance,
Mike

Please consider watching this video for further clarification: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=25kLPVowGGg . This is for a different Template but the process should work fine for every template available.

Hope this Helps!
