Getting started

Question

Hi, I bought Canvas because it looks amazing and I specifically wanted to keep away from CMS solutions so I retain the ability to add my own code. Can you recommend a getting started video that would save me time trawling through the whole massive canon of pages?

I'm not talking detail here, but more general 'approach'/'ethos' stuff that would help users quickly leverage the benefits of and differences between this approach to building sites and things like WP, roll-your-own html/css/js etc.

Or is there a good-active self-help and support community I could tap into?

Thank You so much for Purchasing Canvas and the Kind Words! :)

Unfortunately, we currently do not have a Getting Started Video. But since Canvas is an HTML5/CSS3 Template, the installation as simple as Plug/Play. Simply generate a Custom Package here: http://docs.semicolonweb.com/docs/getting-started/installation/ according to the HTML Files you need for your website and out Package Generator will sort the Files for you to download.

And then you can simply edit those HTML according to your needs in a Text Editor like Sublime Text and upload it to your Servers using FTP.
