From HTML template to custom WP theme

I know this is a HTML template and not a WP theme. But I was wondering if it is possible to turn Canvas into a custom Wordpress theme? I really like the Canvas template and would like to use it together with Worpress functionality. I've already checked out some tutorials on how to convert an html site into a custom WP theme, so I know that this should be possible. But I was wondering if there are any big obstacles I should think about it, which are specific to this template? And also, do you have any other general tips for doing this?

Hello,

It is Absolutely Possible to convert Canvas to a WordPress Theme and many of our Users have already done so without any issues. You can follow the Default Steps to create the WordPress Theme and everything else should work fine.

Do let us know if we can help you with anything else or if you find any further issues with Canvas.

I am in the process of converting this into a WordPress theme, the only issue I am encountering is for some reason the sticky submenu will no longer stick to the main nav on scrolling, any idea's on how to correct this? (Loving this theme by the way!)

Hello,

Thank You so much for the Kind Words. :)

Please find the following code in the pageTransition: function() Function Block in the js/functions.js File:

linkElement : '#primary-menu ul li a:not([target="_blank"]):not([href*=#]):not([data-lightbox])',

and replace it with:

linkElement : '#primary-menu ul li a:not([target="_blank"]):not([href*="#"]):not([data-lightbox]):not([href^="mailto"]):not([href^="tel"]):not([href^="sms"]):not([href^="call"])',

This will definitely fix the issue. Let us know if we can help you with anything else or if you find any further issues.

Hello, I just bought the HTML template thinking that this is a wordpress theme. Looking at the download data I saw, that I can't install it as usual and I am not a professional to change it into a wordpress theme. As I can't use your promising template, I want to ask, if I can give the license back and get a refund of the money? I would be very happy, if you can do so:-)
Thank you and have a wonderful day,

Mirja
