Hello,
Is it possible to have one image fade into another within a style="background" tag? If so how can I achieve this.
See the below page for reference (the top section). I've included a slider below this to show the effect wanted.

You can consider using the Swiper Slider to emulate this effect: http://themes.semicolonweb.com/html/canvas/slider-canvas-fade.html . Simply use the codes as <div> Tag without the #slider ID.

Thankyou for getting back to me. Yes I understand the support policy and didn't want customization, I thought it was maybe possible to achieve the request. I'm happy to try the above recommendation if this gives me the same result but with limited html knowledge not sure on what you mean "Simply use the codes as <div> Tag without the #slider ID."
Could you possibly give me an example of the code I need to place to achieve the image fading into another image set as a background.
I went back to the master file for canvas and can't find an example page of slider-canvas-fade.html.

I've implemented the slider as mentioned but have come across a new problem. I already have the main slider at the head of the page so now trying to include a second slider can I initiate and control multiple instances of swiper slides on the same page or is there another slider that supports style="background" for images?

The current version of Canvas supports multiple Canvas Swiper Sliders on a Single Page so the codes should work fine. You can consider using the Flex Slider:

Have used flex slider for now and is working to how I'd like.
How can I tell what version of Canvas I currently have, and could you tell me what version started supporting multiple sliders.

The most current version of Canvas is at v5.9. You can check the Version you are using by checking the top of the style.css File.
