Dark Image overaly

Could you please advise how to do a darker overlay so that the text appears.. a bit new to your template and been seeking where i can do this

looking to add a darker overlay over the paralax so that I can simply keep the white writing without the need to go and rework the image to be darker. the overlay I should be able to alter to achieve the right tone I want with the text and the image.. similar code to the following which may help you see what I am trying to achieve..

Sorry to ask although could you offer a pointer here also?

I have removed the cart from the menu on the right and I am wishing to place a couple of buttons similar to the one that works on the evanto site.. their main ones of this link https://envato.com/index.html - having a little issues and thoughts with your code. In other words placing a button in the menu without killing the menu which is does when I try similar to the green button they have "get started" - and wanted to place a functioning button like the "box / x" which is a direct link into their platforms - it work really well and wanted to work something but having issues with the menu.

Sorry about that stupid question - you have better things to do.

I have been working on this a little and ran into a snag.. if you could take a look at the foot on this I have a large white space and cannot seem to remove the dam thing and resize the bottom on the page for this page only...

attached is the file that I am working on which is a version of the button one you gave me.. so wondering if could offer your great assistance and give me the code to correct this and clean it up. I just want to roll this section

into the footer and allow a little more room on the bottom for copywright - I was thinking about seeing if position the page sub menu as a roll down into the bottom of this page where i can link out as things develop some more.. this would be this code
