customising canvas

Hi,

I am in the process of migrating my site to canvas however I want to use a one page template then incorporate other elements from other demos.

i.e,
My base canvas template is demo-gym, however I want to bring in the top menu from the e-commerce template (so i can popup login etc)

Will it just be a case of pulling in the html code from the demo and dropping it into our new canvas page or do i need to also find the css relevant to the demo element?
