Contact form bot detected

I'm having trouble with the contact form. I set it up with SMTP. I was successfully sending emails. However, instead of seeing the success message notification, it was going to a new page and showing me the JSON object { 'success': 'Your message etc... }.

I realized I hadn't added the script for js/jquery, js/plugins, or js/functions . As soon as I did so I began seeing the notification, but getting the error that a bot was detected. So I just traded one problem for the other.

That's where I got stuck. Any ideas?
