How can I reduced the height of the container below the menu and the slider. See attached image.

Hello,
There are too many Custom Codes in the .container Element which is causing this, not the Canvas Template. Please make sure that you remove any extra margins applied by the Custom Elements.
This will automatically fix the issues. Hope this Helps!
