Canvas theme slider revolution and php 7.2 (Mcrypt)

Hi,

I tried contacting ThemePunch support but it seems I'm not allowed to create a ticket because I didn't buy slider revolution directly from them.

I'm on Amazon EC2 Linux 2 with PHP 7.2 (downgrading to 5.6 is not a real option).

I went ahead and installed Slider Revolution standalone. However one of the requirements are not met:
PHP Mcrypt Extension

I read bout Mcrypt and it seems to be deprecated in PHP 7.2.

So my question is, do you know if PHP 7.2 is supported by Slider Revolution? I'm currently using
Version 5.4.6.3 which was bundled with Canvas.

Thank you,

mnordlin

Hi,

So I went ahead and installed xampp with php 5.6 and mysql on my local machine and installed revolution slider.

I chose Manual Installation and Browse, Add On File/visual-editor-extension.zip (downloaded from your site http://support.semicolonweb.com/forums/topic/canvas-v4-3-asset-downloads/).

After pressing Upload I receive the message:
Error: Invalid or corrupted addon file!

Any suggestions? Thanks!

This should definitely work fine. Hope this Helps!

Hi!

Thank you for your reply. But I still get the "Error: Invalid or corrupted addon file!"

I'm using editor version 5.4.6.3 that came with the Canvas theme that I bought a few days ago. I sucessfully installed it and now choosing Manual Installation for the visual editor.

The file I'm downloading from your google drive has id=0B8_nVncz0cF0Nkk0U3Zaa2liWE0 . Windows shows its timestamp as 28.11.2017

If you can contact me driectly at nordlingm@gmail.com ? I contacted Themepunch support who replied that their newest version supports php 7.2 and they asked me to contact you regarding possible update. As I wrote earlier my live-site is on Amazon EC2 Linux 2 which comes with PHP 7.2 that has Mcrypt deprecated so the installation fails for this version.

The version I've now installed is on my local machine using XAMPP.

Thanks for a great theme!

Mattias

Hi!

OK thank you for the quick replies! If it's all possibly to receive the latest revolution slider plugin that supports php 7.2 I would greatly appreciate it.

Other then that I'm really happy with Canvas and currently developing the site. The other sliders that are included are also good, but the person in charge of UI wanted slides that are more easily configured with slider revolution.

Thank you!

Mattias
